A Love Letter to Alana O’Herlihy.

Friday January 2  2026

On taste, timing, and trusting yourself.

Some people inspire you by telling you what to do.
Others inspire you just by existing exactly as they are.

Alana is that BITcH to me,

There’s something enticing about watching someone move through the world with that much confidence, naturally camp, but grounded, self-trusting kind. The kind that doesn’t ask permission. The kind that makes you think, oh… I could do that too. fuck, thats cool as shit!
What I admire most isn’t just the work(though the work is very, very cool). It’s the way she seems to live inside her choices fully. Creative. Bold. Powerful without posturing. There’s no shrinking, no over-explaining, no “is this okay?” energy. Just presence.

She makes ambition look elegant. Like something you can carry with ease instead of something you have to prove.
Watching Alana build a career that feels aligned creatively, visually, emotionally, reminds me that confidence isn’t something you wake up with one day. It’s something you practice by choosing yourself over and over again. By trusting your taste. By honoring your instincts. By letting your dreams be big without apologizing for them. She’s the kind of inspiration that doesn’t make you feel behind, she makes you feel that your dreams & goals are possible.

There’s something deeply reassuring about someone who isn’t trying to be relatable. Who isn’t softening their edges or over-contextualizing their success. Seeing someone live out their best dreams so fully that it quietly gives you permission to go after your own. To take up space. To be seen. To believe that the version of you who wants more isn’t asking for too much.

So this is a love letter, yes, but also a thank you.
For showing what confidence can look like when it’s rooted in self-trust.
For making creativity feel expansive instead of exclusive.
For being cool as shit while still feeling deeply human and relatable.
& maybeeee
The dream is going shopping with her after a martini.. or two... watching the decision-making in real time. The racks she skips. The one piece she clocks immediately. I imagine I’d learn more in one afternoon than from years of saving outfits on my phone.

With admiration, always,
SpicyIvy

Here’s to living boldly, dreaming loudly, and becoming the kind of woman who inspires.
