SpicyIvy, You are an Outfit Repeater!

This shit costs money. Be serious.

I would love to live in a world where I debut a fresh, untouched, never-before-seen look every time I step outside.

Unfortunately, I also live in reality!
& reality is, this shit costs money.

I’m not retiring a $300 coat because you saw it once at dinner. I’m not shelving heels that blistered me into emotional growth. I’m not banishing a dress that made me feel like a Bitch in the best way just because it already had its Instagram moment...
                                     Be so fucking for real.

The Audacity of Expecting New

Somehow “ insta baddies” have normalized the idea that if you post it once, it’s done. Like clothes are content props instead of… clothes.Yeahhh, weird?
If I bought it, loved it, and paid for it, you’re going to see it an annoyingly amount of times. Probably styled better. Probably with better hair. Definitely with more comfort.
I’ll admit I’ve been guilty of the classic “buy something new for every occasion” mindset; the pre-event panic purchase is a tale as old as time. But lately I’ve realized how nice it is to actually have a solid core lineup in your closet(shocker!) pieces you know work, feel good in, and can rely on. Because nothing beats the calm of knowing you already have something great to wear when you’re in a pinch.
That’s called ROI, babe!

You know what’s actually rich behavior?
✰Buying something you can wear 20 times.
✰
Having staples that hit every time.
✰Not panic-ordering something mid-week because you “can’t repeat again.”
Fast fashion wants you anxious.
Algorithms want you broke.
Micro-trends want you confused.
                        Which is already fucking annoying!

Meanwhile, I’m over here rotating my favorites like a well funded wine cellar.
If someone clocks that you’ve worn something before, good. It clearly left an impression. And if someone judges you for repeating? That says more about their insecurity than your wardrobe & they are a freak giving fan behavior. Repeating outfits is one of the few sane responses left in modern shopping culture.
And let’s be honest, half the time when someone thinks they remember an outfit, they’re really just remembering that you looked hot in it!

Honestly? The most stylish girls I look to have a uniform. They rework. They refine. They re-enter the room in the same silhouette and it still eats. Because it was never about something new. It was about how you wore it.
Also something deeply comforting about the fact that Adam Sandler has essentially worn the same outfit for the last twenty years and no one questions it. Oversized basketball shorts, a giant T-shirt, sneakers that have seen things & he walks around with the quiet confidence of a man who knows he doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. Meanwhile the rest of us are over here acting like a basic boot with a slight edge can’t be seen twice in public. If Adam Sandler can rotate the same three silhouettes while being worth hundreds of millions of dollars, I think I can wear the same boots again.

I will repeat the same basic white tee.
I will repeat the funky weird sweater.
I will repeat the dress that photographed suspiciously well.
I will repeat the jacket I’ve worn 1,000 times!

And if anyone has a problem with that, I’d just like to remind you of one of television’s most important cultural moments:
“Lizzie McGuire, you are an outfit repeater.”

Because this shit costs money.

BUT
When the starting lineup needs a temporary free agent...

Nuuly- It’s a fuckin great solution for when you want outfit variety without running your bank account into the ground. You rent six pieces a month, wear them as much as you want, and then send them back when you’re over it. Think of it as updating your wardrobe without the guilt, the clutter, or the panic of commiting! I know you bitches too well;)
