Tied up in cuteness and just a little chaos

Want to make it spicier, more chaotic, or a little more romantic?
Let’s talk about bows—because apparently, I’ve entered my “hot girl Little Women” era and I’m not mad about it. Bows in the hair used to scream “elementary school picture day,” but now? They’re the ultimate power move. Think less playground chic, more coquette with a credit score and a skincare routine.
Wearing a bow in 2025 says, “Yes, I’m soft, but I will absolutely ignore your text and look good doing it.” It’s like a crown, but floppier and way better at hiding the chaos bun I haven’t brushed out since Tuesday. Honestly, it’s not just a hair accessory. It’s a lifestyle. A soft, feminine, slightly unhinged lifestyle tied up in satin.
Let’s also be honest... this isn’t my first rodeo. In my early 20s, a bow (or a scrunchie if we’re being real) was less of a fashion statement and more of a survival tool. It’s held my hair back in bar bathrooms, parking lots, questionable Ubers, and on more than one occasion, my best friend’s hair too—because nothing says “ride or die” like sacrificing your cute accessory to hold someone’s head over a bar toilet at 2 AM.
Back then, it wasn’t about the aesthetic it was about *functionality in chaos.* And now? Well… okay, it’s still occasionally about holding back tequila-regret hair, but it’s also about making an outfit pop, pulling focus, and distracting from the fact that I haven’t washed my hair in three days.
Because honestly? Sometimes a bow is just the easiest way to say, “I tried”, even when everything else says, I gave up. It’s a little flair. A little fun. And if someone tells you it’s too childish? Just assume they’ve never known the healing power of a scrunchie mid-meltdown. Tragic, really.
To all my favorite hair accessorie brands, just know, you're doing God's work.
Emi Jay – The it girl of hair accessories. Luxe, trendy, and celeb-approved. Think oversized bows, crystal clips, and aesthetic overload.
Chunks – Funky, colorful, and unapologetically fun. Great for claw clips that feel like wearable art.
Lelet NY – High-fashion, architectural vibes. A little pricey, a lot iconic.
Valet Studio – Bold acrylic styles with a vintage flair. Think “cool aunt with a Parisian apartment.”
Jennifer Behr – The designer bow queen. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Also yes.
